Sian Christie graduated from the University of the West of England with a degree in Psychology. She has joined Barratt specialising in Land.
‘Obviously, a degree in Psychology is a long way from a career in Property. But I suppose that Barratt caught my eye just because it seemed like such a good time to join the company. It’s the first year of the graduate programme so that is quite prestigious in itself. They have also just acquired David Wilson Homes, so there is lots of change and opportunity here. It feels like there is a lot happening.
‘I know I’ve got a lot to learn, so the structured training really appealed to me too. To begin with, I’m specialising in Land but there is the flexibility to change in the future once I’ve learnt more about the business. I think I’m going to learn quickly too! On my first day here I visited a site with one of the Land Buyers. I’ve already been researching sites, exploring the viability of developments and working with the managers – and I’m only in my first week!’
