Carlene Seelig graduated from the University of Surrey with a degree in Business Management. She has joined Barratt aiming to specialise in Sales.
‘How did I end up at Barratt? I wasn’t particularly looking to join a construction company but I saw an advertisement on Milkround and the scheme looked good. When I looked into it more deeply, I started to get a much better understanding of the organisation too. I realised that Barratt does much more than housing. They do commercial and leisure developments too, so Sales has real potential to offer different challenges.
‘Since I’ve arrived, my initial perceptions of Barratt look spot on. It’s a big company but they treat you like an individual. Before I started work, they organised a two-day induction and black-tie dinner for all the new graduates. You learn more about the business, meet the directors, meet the other new starters. So when it comes to your first day, you don’t feel intimidated at all. In fact, I was really looking forward to it.’
