At the other end of the scale is our Chorley EcoVillage. This is a development of seven houses that incorporates a whole raft of energy saving, environmentally friendly technologies that could be the future of house building. Photovoltaic panels, rainwater harvesting, wind turbines, geothermal energy and wildlife habitats all formed part of the overall vision.
Land acquisition and green belt development is a critical and high profile issue for the house building industry. We believe that developments should be sustainable. Therefore, we are committed to developing reclaimed, derelict and abandoned sites which helps to protect the green belt and regenerate local communities. In fact, over 85% of our new developments are ‘brownfield’ regeneration projects.
